About ChteauFakra Region:

Kfardebian, land of springs, is a village located in the very heart of Mount Lebanon, varying in altitude from 1000 to 2826 m. Green mountainsides, enormous rocky blocks, woodlands of oak, walnut, and pine, orchards of apple and mulberry trees, vineyards, and streams with fresh and limpid water altogether constitute the most picturesque area and one of the main agricultural villages in Lebanon. The Milk source (Nabeh el-Laban) receives the blessing of the natural bridge a wonder of the world located between the international ski resorts of Fakra and Ouyoune el-Simane to join the Honey source (Nabeh el-Assal) and sing in duet an eternal and millennial love song.

Then, following a winding road, we reach the millenary Temples of Fakra where since thousands of years, from the Phoenician times, to the Greeks, Romans, Byzantines, and up till modern times , the gods of love and wine were venerated.

Extra special baladi Arak, distilled in accordance with the ancestral Lebanese traditions, is made with a selection of grapes and top-quality aniseed. It is then aged until maturity in baked clay jars, giving it a taste unlike any other.

Arak is the national beverage of Lebanon. ARAK FAKRA is the epitome of Arak. People who have access to the Roman archives had the opportunity to discover these rare armorial bearings of a noble traditional Lebanese family from Mount Lebanon.

Over a century later, this familys descendants continue to preserve the traditions of the Lebanese mountains by producing the same rare Arak with the same method and formula. The name ARAK FAKRA is inspired by a prestigious site on that mountain, located at an altitude of over 1500 meters.

Long before our era, the Romans chose this area to build temples dedicated to their deities, including one dedicated to Venus and monuments honoring Emperor Claudius (10 AD – 54 AD). The name of the great autochthonous god Baalgalassos was associated with Emperor Claudius. The ruins of these temples still cast a shadow over the cellars where ARAK FAKRA matures.
